The kids got a hilarious Klutz book from the book fair a while back. They immediately tried out a bunch of the ideas around our house. It's taken me this long to post them(I've been having TONS of trouble with blogger lately- that's the reason I'm so behind with about a million posts!)

a lake visit
1 day before the Bintliffs left for Denver we tried to fit in as much together time as possible so we drove out to the lake in DL to see them in the early afternoon. My sister Amy came along because she was visiting us from Eau Claire. The kids swam in the pool and I gave Amber and Matt one of their goodbye presents: a photo album of the past 6 years since we met them. Later that night they came back to Fargo and we met them at their hotel for some more swimming and visiting... and lots of crying and sad, sad goodbyes. :( We were thankful to have the extra time with them though and the kids had a lot of fun with Shia.
We miss you guys!

teacher gifts for the last day
the kids each painted a special card and a flower pot for their teachers thanking them for the great year they had together.
Mickey drew a robin, Jeffrey drew the butterfly above, and Mary Beth did the sunflower painting below. Their teachers LOVED them. Jeffrey's said she was going to frame his.
He chose butterflies for the card and flower pot because his class had just been studying butterflies. They each had gotten their own baby caterpillar to keep on their desk until it made its chrysallis and then they watched them emerge as a butterfly.

Songs & Ice Cream
Today Mary Beth's class invited their parents to come for a cute singing program followed by an ice cream party. They sang all of their favorite songs from the year and then we watched a slide presentation of their animal research project. Mary Beth's animal was a penguin. Each child had to record themselves saying what their animal was and an interesting fact about it. Her voice was so cute! I was so proud of her that she actually did it! She also sang all of the songs in the program and participated in the hand/body motions. It's amazing how much has changed in just a year's time...

watching the Fargo Marathon
I stood there for EVER holding my camera ready to take a picture of Amber(she was running the 1/2 marathon) and cheer her on... and I MISSED her!!! She was in a huge group of people and must have blended in. :( We did see several other people we knew though and had a fun time watching the runners.
If I didn't have my trick knee I would consider running some time. ha!
baby photo shoot
This week I got to babysit my goddaughter Estelle a couple times. (Thank you Maggie!) One of the days we did a photo shoot and these are some of my fav's...
