no good very bad day

So I decided it was finally time to take down some Christmas decorations today and after I slid this window down and repositioned it on top of the bookcase and walked away I heard a loud CRASH.
It was ABSOLUTE worst case senario... the window broke, glass went everywhere, the window hit a jar of reed diffusers in oil on the way down and oil spilled and flew EVERYWHERE!  It was all over the hardwood floors, all over our books, all over our photo albums, all over our scrapbooks, all over the bookcase(and it started bubbling up the paint!), all over the rug.  It literally couldn't have been any worse unless someone had been hurt.
But guess what?  I didn't scream, cry, or freak out!  I know, you can't believe it... but it's true.  I just calmly cleaned it up(after staring at it in a state of shock for 10 minutes).

Oh yeah, and the oil got all over the check we just got from the insurance company for the van.  Ugh!

January Kid Quest {Plains Art Museum}

Today was the day for January's Kid Quest at the Plains Art Museum.
If you live in Fargo and you aren't going to these- please give it a try!  They are so fun and their free!

Before I tear down the New Years candles, ect. I thought I'd take a few pictures around the house so next year I can remember how I decorated! :)

New Year's Day {daytime pj party}

On New Year's Day the kids had their friends over for a pajama party(in the morning).
They played "sandwich" with the couch cushions in the basement forever.  It was hilarious- they had me take movies and watched it over and over.

They also tried out Mickey's new thumbprint book.  They have a big book of thumbprint ideas at the library too- it's so fun!  They make little animals out of their thumbprints.

 

They they made stuff with Jeffrey's birthday sparkle-y floam- that stuff is addicting!
We highly recommend both of these projects. :)

New Year's Eve {part 2}

The evening ended at the Wallmans and the kids were so excited that they were finally going to be able to set off the fireworks the Lewises have been holding on to since we got in trouble on the 4th of July...
"Pinkalicious"  is what they named it. :)

Needless to say the little girls LOVED it.  It was FREEZING outside so we watched from inside.

At some point a bowl of "every flavor beans" came out for the kids to try out and it got pretty dramatic in there... I don't remember the flavors but I was told there were some gross ones.

Last Night we joined our neighbors/friends for a progressive dinner party to celebrate New Year's Eve.
We hosted "Appetizers Part 2" - actually the whole night turned into a series of appetizers- each with a different theme.  Ours was Italian(of course).
Such a fun night- everyone had a blast.  This could become a fun tradition!!
