Poem

If I Had My Child to Raise Over Again
by Diane Loomans
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd do less correcting, and more connecting,
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I'd run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging, and less tugging.
I would be firm les often, and affirm much more.
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd teach less about the love of power
and more about the power of love.
I always pray that I can raise my children without (too much)regret and that I can savor every single moment of the precious few I have with them being my little peanuts...

so true, so true...

"A government big enough to give you everything that you want is big enough to take everything you have" Thomas Jefferson

We're back!

I can't believe I haven't posted since Wednesday! We left for Minneapolis on Friday and got home last night- wonderful times! Boy, were the kids tired this morning- me too. I'm too tired to upload pictures and edit them and post them tonight so I promise I will do it tomorrow. Promise.

Here is a great quote that my mom sent to me:

HAVE NOTHING IN YOUR HOUSES WHICH YOU DO NOT KNOW TO BE USEFUL OR BELIEVE TO BE BEAUTIFUL. ~ WILLIAM MORRIS 1880

I have been purging and cleaning like crazy lately- all the while asking myself: why do you have sooooooooo much "stuff"????? I don't want to bring anything else into this house for a long time- just get junk OUT! Sometimes I start feeling suffocated from all the stuff, ya know? And don't even talk to me about the loft above the garage, or the garage, or my craft room, ect, ect.
