trimming the tree & a story a night until Christmas

Last night we decorated our Christmas tree.

Every year the kids each receive a new ornament to kick off the tree trimming event.

Jeffrey's...

Mickey's...

We love Peanuts here(1/2 of all of our ornaments are Snoopy related).

Mary Beth's...

It was Mary Beth's turn to put the star on this year.

Ta-da!

Then we had hot apple cider and read our bedtime story by the tree.

We read one story from this book every night in December up until Christmas.

It was my book when I was little and I LOVED it. And now my kids do too!

We have been trying to take it slow through the Christmas season- enjoying all the traditions and family togetherness... so far so good. It's so fun experiencing this time of year with the kids!
